He explains the different food chains and argues that some are more wholesome and healthy than others. In this way, he solves “the omnivore’s dilemma”; when people can eat everything, what should they eat? Pollan proves that guidance is necessary in order to improve people’s eating habits by writing about healthful food choices from the past, how our senses are fooling us to make the wrong food choices, and how culture impacts the food on everyone’s plates.…

There are essentially two ways spelled out in the Constitution for how to propose an amendment. The first method is for a bill to pass both houses of the legislature, by a two-thirds majority in each. Once the bill has passed both houses, it goes on to the states. This is the route taken by all current amendments. Because of some long outstanding amendments, such as the 27th, Congress will normally put a time limit (typically seven years) for the bill to be approved as an amendment (for example, see the 21st and 22nd). The second method prescribed is for a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States, and for that Convention to propose one or more amendments. These amendments are then sent to the states to be approved by three-fourths of the legislatures or conventions. There has been many attempts to change the information. It is human nature to try and categorize the surrounding world. Science created a classification system in order to visualize the similarities between animals and plant life. The problem with this system occurs when one does not fit into a specific place. Even amongst themselves, humans have tried to assort themselves based on outward appearances, but many people fail to comprehend how diverse the human race truly is. Throughout history, variances in skin color, hair type and facial structures have been used to distinguish between types of people; among these, is the labels placed on each ethnicity. The ‘Hispanic’ group is one of the largest populated ethnicities with multiple countries that fitting into it. However, each nation, is completely…

An anonymous author wrote “Our culture, our traditions, our language are the foundations upon which we build our identity.” This brings out what Tanya Maria Barrientos argues throughout her essay, “Se Habla Español.” She struggled to identify herself as Latino and embracing her Spanish heritage. So at a young age, she decided to step away from America’s stereotypical view of Latin’s and embrace what she thought was the correct way to live. One main thing she didn’t want was to be able to speak Spanish, because she thought people would automatically judge her. Like Barrientos, I how was raised had a lot to do with my identity and how I perceived myself and the world.…

Eating is one of the many things that humans have in common, despite their gender, race, or ethnicity. In the article, Blank Food, by Michelangelo Pascali, Pascali shows how food is not just there for eating, but also there for aesthetic purposes. He also mentions how just valuing food at the surface level has harmed society, because then people will then eat foods with no nutritional value just for their aesthetic purposes, such as “blank food”. Individuals has made “blank food” apart of their daily lives to show individualism. Pascali also goes on to discuss how this “blank food” has become a new ritual in society and how real food no longer unites us. Although, Pascali’s article gives a fresh look on what food has become in today’s society, the way he…
