For 2013, a new Trailhawk edition is introduced. Jeep also added new standard features to the Summit Overland trim. This model is also available in Laredo, Limited, Overland, and SRT trims.

The Tundra has two V8 engines available, a standard 4.7 liter and the optional big 5.7 liter as well as a V6 engine for the smaller entry level models. The 5.7 iForce V8 is the appropriate engine choice to power this large truck being that it is a very powerful engine. Boasting 381 horsepower, the 5.7 liter V8 brings this truck to the top of its class in pickup trucks. The big V8 makes plenty of horsepower and torque to tow large loads with ease. With this dominant engine comes with a six speed automatic transmission. Drivetrain options also include a towing package with better gearing for hauling as well as your choice of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Whether the power is needed or not, Toyota has powertrain options to suit many buyers needs.…

You see, the “liter” term is used to describe the size of the engine, the cylinders to be more specific. The bigger the cylinders, the more fuel has to be pumped in to keep the cylinders firing. The bigger the engine, the worse fuel mileage the vehicle gets. Sure there are some companies out there, like landscaping companies or people with horse trailers, which will actually need an engine that can haul that big of a load. In that case yes, the Colorado would struggle to accomplish that task. You would need a larger .350 V8 or even a diesel truck to finish that job. The Colorado has a capacity of a horsepower of 185 horsepower at about 6000 rpm. Although the engine cannot tow as much as some would like, that is not the point of the in-line 3.7 V5 (or V4). The whole reason is so that the driver can get a better miles per gallon in a pick-up. So if an individual works a manual labor job with a long commute which requires him to throw things in a truck bed instead of the cab, this would be a good truck for…

Chevrolet’s performance is good at best. Chevrolet’s 3500 have a 6.6-liter V8 turbo diesel engine with a hydramtic six-speed transmission allowing for 365 horsepower and 660 pounds of torque. When the Ford Mustang went on sale it quickly became the fastest-selling car in history. So it was no wonder that Ford’s rivals wanted to enjoy the same sort of success with their own ‘pony cars’, and GM’s take on the formula was the Pontiac Firebird (alongside the Chevrolet Camaro). While it was the Camaro that arrived first, the Firebird carried a higher price and was more highly equipped – which is why twice as many Camaros were produced. Nowadays, both cars have a following, often brought about by each car’s exposure in the media. In the case of the Firebird it was the 1978 film Smokey and the Bandit that turned the Trans Am into an icon, which is why these later cars with their black and gold colour schemes are now among the most sought…

    Truck Comparison Essay

Automobiles are like people. There are tons of them, and yet only a few ever enter our lives. With this in mind I comprised a comparison of the three top trucks on the market. The Toyota Tacoma, the GMC Sierra 1500, and the Ford F-150. These three trucks are considered smaller full size trucks. Now there are quite a few ways to compare trucks. However I chose the most used, or necessary traits needed in a truck. For all who do not know anything about automobiles I will be going over each trait, and why they matter before giving the ranking of first to last place. The easiest was for someone to judge anything is by the price. It is the part that directly requires your action. That being said it requires the least amount of explaining. Looking at only the price the Toyota Tacoma is the winner by about 2,000 dollars. The interiors on the stock models are around the same quality, but the Tacoma is notably more compact than the other two models in this chart. This impacts a few other features that will be talked about later. The next trait is horsepower. This is the amount of work that can be done by the engine. 1 horsepower equals 746 Watts of power a second. In laymen terms this is…

The Camaro ZL1 is an interesting and amazing machine with power and potential. The massive engine is a LS1 V8 engine that holds 580 tones of horsepower and 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 556 cubic inches of made power. This is the same amount of cubic inches as the Corvette. With a horse power of 460, this race car accelerates from an amazing 0-60 miles per hour in 3.8 Seconds. The Camaro has a TREMEC® 6-speed manual (MG9) transmission, possessing a first gear ratio of 2.66:1 with a Torsen limited slip differential. In the ¼ mile run, which is a slandered length for a race car, the Corvette runs about 3.8seconds at 460 miles per hour. The forced air induction from the hood scoop of the Camaro adds to the extreme power of the car.…

Dodge ram 1500 full sized trucks have the best in class fuel economy with an estimated seventeen miles per gallon city and twenty five miles per gallon highway with their new v6 engine and eight speed automatic transmission. Ford, however, has more towing capacity with the 325 foot pounds of torque their base line v6 creates. With twelve miles per gallon city and twenty three miles per gallon highway Ford has less fuel economy than the Dodge trucks. Dodge trucks have had a large improvement in 2013 with the addition of the newest 3.6 liter Penstar v6 engine. The motor is tuned to make 305 horsepower and create 269 foot pounds of torque.…
