English Language and Literature has also taught me how to be more imaginative and encouraged me to consider alternative interpretations. This has allowed me to able to think outside one route and create other ideas. This subject also gives me the ability to comprehend and develop intricate ideas, apply a variety of theoretical positions and weigh the importance of alternative perspectives.
Media Studies has given me the ability to use technical software, such as Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and iMovie. I am able to work in groups and build a strong sense of teamwork, being able to take lead and also give ideas and co-operate with others. Meeting deadlines is crucial in Media Studies, so I have been able to use my time efficiently to ensure this happens. Being able to manage my time wisely is an important skill for my future studies.
During my years at school, I have had the opportunity to take on various responsibilities. For example, I mentored a year 8 student. Together we would discuss school and personal issues. I developed a relationship with the student; she was able to talk freely to me about her concerns.
