The Great Gatsby, ultimately a fantastically written and intriguing novel, is solely based on Nick Carraway’s growth in matureness and self-dependence throughout the novel. The Great Gatsby is written from the viewpoint of Nick Carraway as the narrator and comes from the perspective of a fresh start. This is a story about Nick and how his views and morals change depending on the people he surrounds himself with. Nick has a strong sense of reality and also learns a lot from the beginning to the end of the book. He comes into the book not knowing what he wants and looking for a fresh start but ends up finding his way back home. In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald intended this to be a coming of…

I believe that there comes a time in every young woman’s life in which they believe they have fallen in love. For a long time I thought this was something that would just not happen to me, that was until I met him. He introduced himself as Jay Gatsby, a military officer in World War I. I must say he was very alluring and intriguing. We talked, just talked. It was nice, to just talk about life with someone, a stranger almost. I was very unsure of him at first; wanting him to prove to me that he was worth any of my time. Gatsby ended up telling me of his life and to say the least I was extremely impressed with his accomplishments. We got along well and I began to actually like him, a lot, which scared me considering he was still a stranger. The thought of him still being a stranger crossed my mind as I asked if he would like to come back to my house. When we arrived, and as I showed him around, you could tell he was very enthralled by my house. We, well, became very close that night, closer than I thought I would ever be with him. We parted our ways that night, but I found myself still thinking of him even after he left. He convinced me he could take care of me and that he had a stable life, which is exactly what I am looking for. I thought it was quite a coincidence when we met again two days later. Seeing him, kissing him, and being with him made me feel something I haven’t felt before. I soon realized I was falling for him, this man, and fast. Sadly, he told me he was only stationed here, in Louisville, for a short time and that he was being deployed for war. I promised to write and wait for him. I truly believe that he might be the one and I will wait for him, Jay Gatsby, because I think I do love him. The next time I write I hope to have followed through with this, but who knows what can happen in time.…
