INTRODUCTION
In the advancing world now, technology had been revolitionized since the first computers Z1 Computer invented by Konrad Zuse in 1936 until now we got the most advanced computers ever invented by humans. But every technology got its pros and cons including the computers technology. As many did not aware that computers is the most biggest contributor of pollution nowadays and many wonders how those computers that runs silently in our house or office can pollute the world. To reduce the IT’s environmental problem, we need to call upon all computer users to green their IT system as well as the way they use their system. What can cause the green house effect? How does the computers effecting the world temperature? How can we control the pollution?
DEFINITION
Green computing is the responsible and practice of using a computing resources more efficiently while increasing or maintaining its performance time by time without increasing its power usage, electronic waste and heat. Sustainable green computers will require the integration of power management, virtualization, improved cooling technology, recycling, electronic waste disposal, and optimization of the IT infrastucture to meet sustainability requirements. According to the article of Green Computing in the www.techopedia.com, “Many IT manufacturers and vendors are continuously investing in designing energy efficient computing devices, reducing the use of dangerous materials, and encouraging the recyclability of digital devices and printing paper. Green computing practices were primarily introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 with the launch of the Energy Star program.”
