The following paper will explore and discuss six (6) unique problems associated with delivering health care to an indigent population. This paper will discuss the five (5) ways that the Community Care Plan will improve the health status of the community. This paper will explore and discuss the five (5) factors that point to the need for change by Cooper Green Hospital. This paper will discuss five (5) strengths and five (5) weaknesses of Cooper Green Hospital. This paper will also discuss five (5) strengths and five (5) weaknesses of the Community Care Plan.
Discuss six (6) unique problems associated with delivering health care to an indigent population. There were several problems which have been notated within the Cooper Green Hospital (CGH) and the Community Care Plan (CCP) in relation to servicing an indigent population. One of the earliest problems detected for CGH and CCP was a lack of education with the population served. Education amongst the consumers was concerning in reference to lack of care, access to medical care, education related to services delivered and availability. A patient by the name of Martha James, a married woman with a family, did not have medical care. Mrs. James had access to health care within her community which was closer to her home, would have saved her time and money for traveling and would have worked with her in accordance to a sliding scale fee. However, Mrs. James lacked education related to services available within her community. As a result of the lack of education, the medical diagnosis that Mrs. James had raised to the level that she had to be admitted to the hospital. Her infection had worsened.
