PERSONAL COMPUTER “Microcomputer” is a term used to refer to computers that contain a microprocessor. This type of computer is known by its familiar name- the PC. This is the type of computer that someone is mostly to use. As the name suggest, a microprocessor is a very small processor. This is in the form of a silicon chip like a Pentium Processor. Since they use smaller processors, microprocessors are smaller than the other form of computers, yet they are the most important of all. They are also far less expensive than the other categories. Microprocessors come in different types and sizes: ➢ The desktop, which id the most popular type, is usually supplied with separate units like the tower, a monitor, keyboard, mouse and external computers. ➢ The laptops or notebooks are small portable computers. These machines come with the monitor, speakers, CPU, and keyboard as a single unit. ➢ The palmtop is the size of calculators.

LAPTOP COMPUTER
A laptop computer, usually called a notebook computer by manufacturers, is a battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings. A laptop typically weighs less than 5 pounds and is 3 inches or less in thickness. Among the best-known makers of laptop computers are IBM, Apple, Compaq, Dell, and Toshiba.
Laptop computers generally cost more than desktop computers with the same capabilities because they are more difficult to design and manufacture.

MINICOMPUTER

A minicomputer is a multiprocessing computer that is much smaller and slower than a mainframe.
