Green Spring Nursery/Sanctuary is a Non – For – Profit organisation whose main goal is to grow local native plants and supply them to the local community. In addition, the organisation also works closely with Council on ecological restoration projects. The organisation structure has five full time staff but heavily relays on volunteers to manage various roles and responsibilities. As such, volunteer labour plays a leading role in the management of Green Spring Nursery and its turnover. Going forward the nursery needs to sustain and develop its base of volunteers which means focussing on a new demographic or generation who are yet to be engaged in the function of Green Spring Nursery/Sanctuary.
