The Peggy Hettrick case has been a cold case for decades. The case from 1987 has been a mystery. August 10, 1998 Timothy Masters was charged for her murder. Timothy was released and charges were dismissed on January 22, 2008. The roles in this case were hard to follow. The prosecutor who has the role to present the state’s case against defense had to prove that Timothy’s knife collection, his drawings, failure to report seeing body, and the time frame of the crime was reasonably why he was the suspect in the murder of Peggy Hettrick. The police took several years trying to build a case and didn’t come up with much. Timothy Masters’ defense attorney, who has the job of representing the accused and to prove him innocent. They petitioned new trials due to the fact of lack of evidence. The original trial did not have the DNA and the defense attorneys had not been informed of other suspects. One of the other suspects was Richard Hammond. Richard Hammond also had a prior record of filming females in 1995. Hammond’s place of residence was 100 yards from the scene of murder with his bedroom facing the scene. Hammond committed suicide two days after arrest. The evidence of the prior suspect and reports from experts that said Masters was not guilty was enough for a judge to allow a new trial. The judge, who has the role to ensure justice and holds the ultimate authority and is responsible for balancing the rights of the accused and the interest of society, ruled that with all the evidence that was withheld a new trial would be allowed. The new trial found Timothy Masters not guilty and released from jail. Later the judges ruled in wrongful conviction and Timothy was granted millions.…

On September 2006 in Jena, Louisiana a black student asked for permission from a school teacher to sit under the shade of a tree but only white students sat under that tree I was called the white tree. School officials told the black students that they could sit wherever they wanted to sit and they did. The next day three nooses, in the school colors, were seen hanging from the white tree. The school principal found out that three white students were responsible for hanging the three nooses. The principal recommended that the three white students be expelled but the white superintendent over ruled the principal and gave the three students a three day suspension. The superintendent did not expel the students because he believed that the nooses were only a youthful stunt. When black students found out about the nooses they decided to organize a sit in under the tree to protest the lenient treatment given to the noose hanging white students. Racial tensions remained elevated throughout the fall but on Monday, December 4, 2006, a white student who allegedly had been racially taunting black students in support of the students who hung the nooses got into a fight with the black students. Allegedly the white student was taken to the hospital for treatment for being beat but he was later released and attended a social function later that day. As a result of the incident six black students were arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder. All six of the black students were expelled from school and were charged with 140,000 dollars or less bail. On the morning of the trial the District Attorney reduced the charged with attempted second degree murder to second degree aggravated battery and conspiracy. The prosecutor was allowed to argue with the jury that the tennis shoes worn by Bell could be considered a dangerous weapon. When the pool of potential jurors was summoned fifty white people appeared. The jury…

Electric cars have been around for a very long time. An electric car is powered by a battery instead of an engine. Surprisingly, they have existed longer than gasoline powered vehicles. A related technology is the gasoline/electric hybrid car, and they are powered by both large batteries and gasoline engines. Although initially more expensive, electric cars and hybrid cars cause a deduction in environmental destruction because they have higher fuel efficiency, reduced air pollutants, and less petrochemical waste. The people that purchase these vehicles must understand why it’s vital to replace combustion engine cars with clean technology cars.…
