Group Reflective Report
The two insights that were pointed out that during this session was the long road that I have for dealing with conflict in which group think can still take over and people be hesitant to act when they would normally not hesitate to act. During the session a member who everyone knows has extreme anxiety issues and has a companion animal at their side opened and shared an incredibly vulnerable part of their life. The one fact that is understood by everyone in that room is that people with anxiety or other mental issues do not like to be put in spotlight regardless of the situation. Especially, if that spotlight has found them in a vulnerable state. When this individual stalled out and did not appear to want to share a member of the group asked if they could do an exercise. When this was stated I understood this to be incorrect given that one, time was running out and two, this person does not need to be singled out in the group dynamic. However, I allowed this to happen thinking someone else would step …show more content…

I understand that I can never know everything and be prepared for everything is a false manner in thinking. My main goal after this experience would be that I learn as much as possibly knowing that my education never ends. Furthermore, that the only thing I can control is genuinely being there fore my clients and others who give me the gift of trust. Two interventions that were used that I enjoyed was the checking in phase of the session is incredibly helpful in that everyone must speak, and the conversations can derive from a person weekly worries. The other intervention is that linking of group members issues and the group members feeling comfortable to discuss with each other enabling the other group member a chance to engage and discuss

During this placement, I have learned that safeguarding referrals rely on professional judgements against the Risk Threshold Procedures (RTT, 2017) and legislation of Care Act 2014. Assessments methods within adult safeguarding present as both process-focused (clear directives of how to protect vulnerable adults within legislation and policy) and contingent (assessment goals vary on context and independent variables) (SCIE, 2007). The assessment process is systematic and embedded into the Care Act in how local authorities are duty bound to respond and protect adults from abuse (Care Act, 2014). However, despite the process focused approach, there is an element of human subjectivity and the level of need and risk is dependent on gathering the…

What I look forward to the most, at the end of this experience is knowing not only am I advancing my career and knowledge, Ill also be providing my family with a better life. My ultimate goal is to have my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license. At the same time Im most fearful of the stressors in my life and how it will effect my school work. Im working full time and Im the only one working. So now I have to be strong for my family and be a strong student as well. I have very high expectations of myself and not reaching my best is another fear I have for myself. But with the support of my family and friends and a positive attitude, I know I will overcome any obstacle I face. When I graduated from nursing school, I decided I was going to go into Psych and geriatric psych at that. Straight out of nursing school and jumping into psychiatric nursing, I found that I lost a lot of medical skills that others would gain from not working on a medical unit. After 3 years of this I finally decided I would bridge over into medical-surgical nursing. This terrified me. Even though I wasnt a new…

Before the activity, having the group members to introduce themselves allow the members to gain an understanding of the identity of the group. Having the group split up into pairs help reduce anxiety about speaking up in front of the group. Role playing helps her to build up her confidence to socially interact with other group members which in turn help her feel more confident in engaging with her friends at church. The psychodynamic approach helps the clients to share their feedbacks and express themselves once the activity is completed (Shedler, 2011). Providing feedback helps J.T. and other members develop insight and empathy as well as self-confidence to talk to…

During the meeting I noticed numerous of therapeutic factors that were taking place. The first factor I noticed in the meeting was universality. The members in the meeting came from different walks of life, socio-economic statuses, and cultures but they all shared a common problem or situation. They were all there because they have an addiction or they had an addiction in the past. Altruism was also another factor that was applied within the group. While reading the text some of the members had a hard time reading some of the words. Usually when this happens the reader feels ashamed and embarrassed but it was completely different. Everyone within the group supported and helped those who couldn't read the words by telling them the word and by saying that is okay if they mess up and to keep reading.…

In my current position, as a house supervisor, I work with five other nurses to provide 24 hour coverage within our facility. As a group, we all have varying degrees of experience and range in age from the youngest member, in her mid-20s, to our oldest member who is 64 years old. Working within this multigenerational group has led to some difficulties in communication and expectations among members as I will expand upon further.…

The purpose of the Reflective Report is to foster an ability to reflect on their experience and consider ways in which their developing understanding of the theory, which underpins practice, can help them to develop an attitude of critical awareness of their own actions, values, motives etc, and also to the actions, values and motivations of others that they work with. Students complete a weekly reflective report during level 1, and a fortnightly reflective report during levels 2 and 3. A form is provided for this purpose, which can be found in the Practice Handbook or on the website (www.baywat.weebly.com) along with guidelines about how to complete this for each stage of the course. However, the following points should be noted with regard to reflective reports for all levels; • • • Reflective reports are submitted by email to tutors by 4.00pm on the Friday they are due. Late submissions will be counted as a fail. They are graded using the practice CAS scale. There is no specific word count associated with reflective reports but, as a guide, level 1 should cover 2 sides of A4, while levels 2 and 3 will probably require a further side in order to provide adequate evidence of reflective activity. However, quality is more important than quantity, and the main content of each Reflective paper should be within the ‘Reflective Comments’ section. In order to attain professional accreditation, at Level 3 all students must meet JNC Level 2 requirements (CAS 12 or above) for all their reflective reports. Students who do not meet these requirements but do pass (CAS 9 -11) can still graduate without JNC professional accreditation. No more than 5 reflective reports can be failed in any semester, or the practice will be counted as having failed for that semester. Students are permitted to resubmit each reflective recording once in order to meet the appropriate standard. Normally, practice would be made up during the summer, but students…

I took on the informal roles of a compromiser, gatekeeper and encourager during the group interactions (Connery & Vohs, 2006). In the compromise role, I offered suggestions and encouraged feedback from the group members on my ideas so that we could all have a chance to weigh in on decisions that were being made and come to a collective agreement on how we wanted to proceed. As the gatekeeper, I kept up frequent communication online with my group members when we did not meet in person in an attempt to help facilitate dialogue and keep group members up to date. I felt that I helped initiate our first few weeks of coordination and assigning roles through these updates and dialogue. During in-person interactions I tried…
