“There are things about growing up in a small town that you can’t necessarily quantify.”--Brandon Routh. Growing up in a smaller town provided me with the exclusive benefit of spending more time with my family and friends. I was also able to dodge a hectic lifestyle that comes with living in a larger city. I also believe that living in a small city provides a more nostalgic and cozy feeling. Growing up I created great memories with my mother, father, and brother. To begin, growing up I created wonderful memories with my mother. My mother, Theresa, was always there for me growing up, therefore I’ve obtained many great memories. One of my greatest of growing up with my mom would be helping her cook. I received countless cooking tips and had …show more content…

My dad, Jeff, did a ton of fun activities and trips with my brother and I while we were growing up. Every summer my dad brought my brother and I to the family cabin. Growing up the cabin was one of my favorite places to be. While up there my dad taught me how to fish, brought us on amazing hikes, and showed us how wonderful nature truly is. Some of my greatest memories from the cabin are when everybody is out fishing. Having everybody in the boat and fishing is a memory that will always be with me. Baseball is another activity that my dad with me throughout my life. Every free chance we had, we would go outside and throw the baseball around. Not only was I able to improve my baseball skills but I believed it was good bonding time. Baseball was a huge part of growing up for me, because I started playing it while I was so young. It gave my dad a chance to show me a sport that he cared about and made it that we would have some of the same interests. We didn’t just play baseball together, we also watch baseball together. My dad brought us to Minnesota Twin’s and St. Cloud River Bats games. Going to those games while growing up, I believed that they were absolutely amazing and I had a ton of fun. “The Sunshine of Your Youth” by Cheerleader is a perfect song to describe how much fun I had going to those baseball games and spending time with my

To start with, I mainly grew up in two places: Sutter Creek, California, and Garnett, Kansas. Back in California I wasn't really allowed to walk around outside of the house since I didn't have many friends, and the friends I did have lived far away. So, I basically grew up restricted to the house, however, that wasn't a very bad thing, since most things that I wanted to do was in the house or the Yard. However, when I moved to Garnett I shed the Shackles of Domesticity and roamed freely, wherever I wanted basically. I made plenty of friends, I had many experiences, and I had much more resources to draw from so that I could do what I want.…

That is right, the home that we dreaded but now missed. Throughout the rest of my childhood, I would spend my school years in northern Wisconsin and my summers in the Southside of Chicago. As I got older, I learned how lucky I was to have been able to experience both worlds. My cousins in the city were jealous we got to ride horses, milk cows, and ski in the winter. Growing up I played baseball to me baseball was everything i could think of. i couldn't wait to the weekend so i could put on that dirty uniform and pick up the new bat and nice leather glove and play baseball. When i was young i played in a big park in NYC where everyone saw you play so as i grew up everyone expected me to continue playing baseball and get better and work hard my mother always signed me up for baseball and i met a lot of coaches who help me gain more talent throughout the years. So as i grew up baseball started to be more and more of a priority to me i went to baseball practice two times a week one during the week and one on the weekend and with baseball practice i attended a baseball program which is twice a week meaning less and less time for homework and time to study. that being said i believe that time management and dealing with less and less sleep is the biggest problem with high school sports.…

I am one of many students who come from small-town U.S.A. with huge aspirations. I have a great desire to depart from my home in order to pursue my dreams. My passion is to become a script/screenwriter for film companies that include; Walt Disney and Pixar Studios. These aspirations came from a small town I call home. Growing up in a small town is not difficult but it can be irritating. When I was younger I believed that my town was a dreadful prison and desired to escape its repulsive grip that it held on me. This town presented itself with nothing except for a Wal-mart and a few fast food restaurants and the nearest mall was thirty minutes away in another state. And as I advanced in years, I continued to believe that all this town…
