So, I basically grew up restricted to the house, however, that wasn't a very bad thing, since most things that I wanted to do was in the house or the Yard. However, when I moved to Garnett I shed the Shackles of Domesticity and roamed freely, wherever I wanted basically. Many days were spent walking around town with my friends, occasionally stopping by the Gas Station and grabbing a drink.

One such story, was when I was riding my bike to a friend's house, down North Olive. It was an incredibly steep hill with a Rail Road at the bottom. It was an especially cold day, so I was bundled up like fort Knox, ear muffs and all. I didn't hear the Train at first as I blazed down the hill like the speed demon I was. I found out that the train was coming when I saw the crossing guard blink red. I slammed on the brakes just in time, so that I was a safe

Me and Loki were as close as a dog and a boy could be, so I was especially dismayed when I found out that he passed, although the whole situation was quite humorous looking back at it. He decided to pass away on the inopportune day of April first, which you may know as "April Fools" day. When they first told me that he had passed, I originally thought that they were pranking me. I went to bed that night, expecting to find him at my bedside the next morning. However, this was not so, as I came to the realization the following day that he was indeed dead. It was not a happy day, that was for

At home, I would have considered my life average, dare I even say mundane? When I was a small child in elementary school, we had very little. Not that we were homeless, but we were not considered middle class when I was a young child. We shopped at thrift stores, ate TV dinners, and lived in a trailer. The other kids teased me in school because of our financial status and I only had 2 true friends. As a student in high school, I was average, but I wanted to go to college so that I would be able to provide myself a more comfortable life than what my parents were able to provide for me.…

You can’t get there any faster if you are dead. There are safety measures at most if not all railroad crossings and if there isn’t it is common sense to stop at the crossing, look both ways then safely proceed across the tracks. If the lights are flashing and the crossing arms are lowered, then stop and wait for the train to pass. You should never ever go around the crossing arms to beat the train. It’s just not worth it.…

I grew up in a town in Washington, right outside of Seattle, called Woodinville. In this town you either had a great amount of wealth, or you were poor - like my family. A lot of the other kids in my schools growing up would talk about how their parents took them to do stuff over weekend breaks; all I could talk about was how I went exploring through the forests- spending a lot of time alone. My mother had divorced my father and got custody of my brother and I, so she was always working. My older brother became a drug addict over time, pushing me to go to my escape from reality in the woods more and more. I loved it, until I had to grow up and learn to prioritize responsibility and shenanigans in the…

My experience growing up in a small town was the fact that we all were safe in our elite community. What I enjoy most was running outside in the rain a small the dust from our unpaved roads, and playing hop scotch. We loved to play our games; such as: softball, red rover, Simon says, and a lot others. Walking the streets you could smell the different aromas of food cooking from each house. One of my favorite meals was moms’ fried chicken, homemade biscuits and baked apples.…

We grew up together. I was with the same group of kids year after year. There was no need to make new friends because I had lifelong friends right beside me. I met them at the age of five, and I still haven’t lost contact with most of them. I was comfortable where I was. My childhood allowed me to live a sheltered life and not experience the horrible things some kids have to deal with. The small private school I went to shaped who I am today. I was a shy child.
