First and foremost, smallpox first diffused from India and Egypt. It diffused all over the world mostly in Europe. Smallpox were first introduced to the Aztecs by the Spaniards. In the book Gun, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, Diamond talks about this centralized political structure. An argument he makes is that Europeans developed a political structure due to their use of domesticated animals and agriculture, which led to innovations in literature and warfare. People were more educated and Europeans were thus able to conquer many lands. He supports his argument with this example, which is Diamond says as an example that when Europeans came they took down 2 major native american groups.
