Gun Ownership Should Not Be Banned Essay
According to Kleck “In 1982, Kennesaw, Georgia passed a law requiring heads of households to keep at least one firearm in the house. The residential burglary rate subsequently dropped 89% in Kennesaw, compared to just 10.4% drop in Georgia as a whole. Gun ownership has been a debatable issue for a long time in the United States” (n.p.). Some states allow open carry firearms, and some allow concealed firearms. The United States has the highest gun ownership rate in the world, witch is 88.0 per 100 resident in USA ( ). However, The Harvard Journal of Law Public Policy reports that the U.S ranks 4,890 per 100,000 residents, which ranks 103 in the world. Gun ownership should not be banned in the United States because of its benefits such as they protect families, especially females, they are not a violation of the Constitution according to the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, and they cause panic or fear to the criminals.

If every household has firearms, criminals are most likely to be afraid of that, because it causes fear or panic to them.
The criminals are going to have guns anyway, and they can get the firearms from a black market. What if the household wants to get one ,and they are not allowed to? How can they protect themselves without a gun? At this point, the criminal would have the power to steal, rape, or kidnap anyone in the family in front of his or her parents. Every year, guns are used over 80 times more often to protect a life than to take one (Klerk p. ). Thus, guns should be considered as beneficial tools that protect our lives. Guns can be an instrument to protect lives, nor it is to kill. CNBC.com states that all 50 states allow citizens to publically carry handguns. Six states and Washington do not allow people to carry open handguns in

Some people may say that more gun we have, more crime crimes we are going to get; however, when Illinois allow public possession of concealed carry guns, there were 90 fewer shooting and 119 fewer shooting victims compared to the year that concealed carry was prohibited (Jason2014).
According to the First Amendment of the Constitution of United States “ A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Thus, everyone has right to bear a gun. People who are against this issue may say that in the recent era, everything is different from the era when they established the Second Amendment. Indeed, criminals still exist now.
It is right that guns can be dangerous, but it would be dangerous if kids or someone who is not capable of using them. `
