This has been proven through research that the more guns a country has, the more deaths will occur. For instance, the United states has the highest rate of privately owned guns hence, we have highest death rate caused by guns. The graph to the left of “Gun Ownership vs. Gun Deaths” by Josh Tewksbury, proves how the more guns a country owns equals the more deaths a country faces (Lopez). The United States is far above the graph than any other country because our government unlike other countries governments, fails to put an effort in stopping the deaths caused by guns. Our government fails to enforce stronger laws and take away people’s guns for which we have the most easiest access. Since the United States has the most privately owned guns than any other country in the world it also contains the most deaths. Our homicide rate skyrockets all other countries. We have the easiest access to guns hence, we have the most privately owned guns and this is dangerous. Any individual whether they are mentally ill or suicidal has easy access to a gun and this is dangerous. To solve this problem our government must stand up and take action like the government in Australia.
