Gun Ownership Vs. Gun Deaths Analysis

Katy is a mother of two children, her fourteen year old son David and her six year old daughter Cassie. She lives in Seattle Washington and has a job of being a dentist which she loves. Her kids go two different schools, David at Beaver Lake middle school and Cassie at Greenwood elementary. Both kids love their school and enjoy going everyday. Except for one day, a tall six foot man wearing black Nike shoes, blue pants, and a black long sleeve shirt came to Cassie’s school. He casually walked inside and entered a classroom where the children were listening to their teacher read the book, “The Cat in the Hat”. The teacher stopped and both her and her students looked up at the man when suddenly he whipped out a gun and with no hesitation began
This has been proven through research that the more guns a country has, the more deaths will occur. For instance, the United states has the highest rate of privately owned guns hence, we have highest death rate caused by guns. The graph to the left of “Gun Ownership vs. Gun Deaths” by Josh Tewksbury, proves how the more guns a country owns equals the more deaths a country faces (Lopez). The United States is far above the graph than any other country because our government unlike other countries governments, fails to put an effort in stopping the deaths caused by guns. Our government fails to enforce stronger laws and take away people’s guns for which we have the most easiest access. It is our government's fault for not taking action on all these deaths like the government in Australia
Since the United States has the most privately owned guns than any other country in the world it also contains the most deaths. Our homicide rate skyrockets all other countries. We have the easiest access to guns hence, we have the most privately owned guns and this is dangerous. Any individual whether they are mentally ill or suicidal has easy access to a gun and this is dangerous. To solve this problem our government must stand up and take action like the government in Australia. Our government must take away has many guns as possible and make guns harder to access for which this can stop people like Katy from losing the ones they
