The next Monday Burch calls our team into a “meeting.” Announcing that we all can be level 7’s now. After that meeting he tells me, “You’re strong. You don’t give up or go the easy way. I could use you at this gym so if you need anything just ask. Hopefully, one day you’ll coach with me.”
Later that year my parents told me I was done with gymnastics and were taking me out. During the State Championships Madi came up to me before I competed floor and said, “Burch wants you to stay. He’ll pay for all the fees, if you do. Maybe you can talk to your parents about it.
