Sexuality is a fundamental and essential part of our humanity (IPPF, 2008). Porn however, is not.
The adult entertainment industry aims to meet the fantasies and desires of those who consume it. In order to create these fantasies, health measures taken in reality to prevent diseases are rarely used, as many think using a ‘condom is gross, because it suggests that the girl might have a disease, and the idea that the girl might have a disease is a …show more content…
Is it really wrong if people want to work in this industry? No, it pays well and there is huge demand for it. As long as the industry does not look to exploit individuals and knowingly put them at risk for their own gains then it is acceptable. Free will plays a part here, in that everyone has a right to make their own decisions however, in some cases where individuals aren’t in a position to make these decisions may be where authority have the right to intervene. As with many labour intensive jobs there are risks associated and it is the industries responsibility limit these. Some sort of insurance policy should be offered to those who contract HIV on set. More meticulous testing should be in place which tests performers twice a month charging those who pass on the disease as it is wrong to inflict poor personal decisions onto others when they have been cautious.
