Who was Vladimir Lenin ?
Vladimir llych Lenin (22. April 1870 - 21 January 1924 ) or also Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov. He was born in Simbrisk on the Volga river. His family was well-educated. After he excelled the school he went on to study law. He had a really radical way of thinking and a lot of visions. His views were also influenced by the execution of his older brother Aleksandr Ulyanov, who was a member of the revolutionary group and the Marxism ideology. After he was expelled by the university for his radical policies way of thinking, he completed his law degree as an external student 1891 in the Kazan university. After he studied he went back to St Petergrad and became a professional revolutionary. After a while Lenin got arrested and exiled to Sibiria , where he found his wife Nadezdha Krupskaya. Lenin spent a part of his life in western Europe, he was seen as a prominent figure in the international revolutionary movement. He became the leader of the “Bolshevik” faction of the Russian social democratic worker`s party.
After the world war one in 1917, Russia was ready for a change. Lenin turned back to Russia to work against the new provisional government regime that had overthrown the tsarist regime. He led the October revolution. After three years of civil war, finally the Bolsheviks were victorious and assumed the total control of Russia. During this time of the revolution, war and famine ruled this period. Lenin demonstrated a chilling disregard for the suffering of his fellow countrymen and crashed the oppositions down.
Lenin was although ruthless and pragmatic. His efforts to transform the Russian economy to a socialist model stalled. He put the private enterprises in again which were forbidden before, for the new economic policy. They continued several years after his death. Lenin
