A nebula, an immense cloud of hydrogen gas and dust, condenses into smaller regions of matter. On occasion, one of these regions collapses under the force of its own gravitational attraction, often triggered by an outside force, like a nearby supernova-an explosion of a star. After the collapse of a cloud, atoms begin gravitating together to form a condensed center. The condensed center is a protostar. As gravity pulls in more gas and dust, pressure builds, causing the protostar core to heat up. Clouds and matter begin to rotate around the protostar and flatten due to their rotation. They surround the protostar like a rotating disk. The protostar continues to grow and its core continues to heat. When the core is hot enough, nuclear fusion begins. The start of nuclear fusion is technically the beginning of a star's life. Eventually, when the nuclear energy runs out, the star dies. Depending on the size and mass of the star, it can go through many stages and die in different ways-one of those ways being a supernova.…

“I’ll not consider any marriage a greater benefit than your fine leadership.” (Lines 722-724) Haemon states as his father tells him of his ill-fated bride. Though Haemon begins with remark we soon learn that this is just a mask to get Creon to listen. In this story of weaknesses and love Haemon’s ideas, words, and actions contrast with those of of his father Creon to the point of causing conflicting motivations between them both. Conclusively these clashing motivations develop Creon as a tragic hero by ultimately losing his temper and thinking irrationally as his father does. These character interactions advance the plot and develop the theme by proving that even from Haemon’s own wise words and Creon’s power both of their weaknesses ultimately prevail.…

Troubled about whether he is doing the right thing by charging Antigone with death, he calls his son, Haemon, in to justify himself to him. Haemon becomes bothered with the fact Creon confidently thinks only his reasoning is right,“Do not believe you alone can be right”(Sophocles Scene 3 I.74 Emphasis Added). Throughout our lives, we humans will encounter experiences which will teach us that occasionally our sense of judgment may not always be the best. We will learn that our mistakes can have very negative outcomes that cannot be changed. A good example of this is shown through the character of Creon, who clearly demonstrates all of the five components of a tragic hero, which is why he is considered the tragic hero of the play Antigone.…

In Antigone, Sophocles portrays Creon is as a leader, but as most Greek tragedies evolve, nothing remains the same for long. These conflicts commonly happened to societies that were ruled by absolute authorities. The outcomes would mostly result in violence, where there were involvements of fatalities. During the fifth century B.C.E., at the time period of the Ancient Greeks, struggles between the rights of the state and individuals were the main issue. The most accepted theory is the Big Bang – a cosmic explosion that caused the world to exist. Before the Big Bang there had been nothing except an amount of matter that was smaller than the eye of a needle. The explosion caused this to expand and thus; our Universe was created. Scientists believe that it is still expanding, and will one day stop, and begin to contract. They have also found slight ripples of cosmic radiation to prove this.…
