The market is currently saturated with a variety of hair extensions that come from different countries - Brazilian, Peruvian and Indian, are just to name a few. With so many different types of extensions, it can be difficult to know how distinguish between them, or even how to properly care for them. To keep things simple, these types of hair extensions are also known as virgin hair. The name derives from the fact that these high quality extensions have never been processed. Regardless of the hair that you choose, it’s important that you take care of your hair extensions properly so you can have hair that last as long as possible. Read on to learn how to properly take care of your hair extensions.

USE HEAT IN MODERATION

In general, you want to apply the same rules to your hair extensions as you would your own natural hair. Try to use heat only in moderation on your virgin hair extensions. The less heat you use, the longer the lifespan of the hair. If you do choose to use heat, make sure you are using a safe temperature setting. Because virgin hair is unprocessed, it can be very fragile. Using excessively high temperatures on the hair could permanently alter the texture.
