Hairdryer Personification
Near the plug of the hairdryer, there is a large white tag wrapped around the cord. On one side, the tag says "UNPLUG IT" in large, bright red text, along with "DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG! WARN CHILDREN OF THE RISK OF DEATH BY ELECTRIC SHOCK!" in large, black text. There is also a diagram of a plugged in hairdryer floating over a filled bath tub, and the entire drawing has a large red line slashed through it.

On the other side, the tag has bright red text that says "KEEP AWAY FROM WATER DANGER - " and in accompanying small black text below it, it says (all capitalized):
"As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts in dryer are electrically live when switch is off:
To reduce risk of death by electric shock:

Always "unplug it" after use.
Do not place or store where dryer can fall or be pulled into tub, toilet, or sink.
Do not use while bathing.
Do not use near or place in water.
If dryer falls into water, unplug immediately. Do not reach into water."

Since the warning itself is on a sizable white tag wrapped around the cord, the user must pay attention to it every time they use the hairdryer as it is close to the plug. The usage of bright red text helps to catch the user's attention, which is essential to such an important message. Most of the text size is large, which also draws the user's attention. All of the text is bold (except for the numbered list) and capitalized, which communicates the importance of the message. The diagram of the hairdryer over the bathtub summarizes the warning fairly well for those who cannot read/understand English, and the diagonal red slash contrasts well against the white tag and black drawing. Additionally, the red slash is a universal symbol for "do not," so it can be understood by most everyone. The most important text, "KEEP AWAY FROM WATER," is also the largest text, which emphasizes the

The flavor text ("Ceci n'est pas une sniper rifle!" [Lit. "This is not a Sniper Rifle"]) is a reference to Magritte's The Treachery of Images, a painting of a pipe with the words "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." written underneath in cursive lettering. The point of this painting was to demonstrate that it was not, in fact, a pipe but a painting of one. A similar reference was made in Minecraft. The game's menu splash text, "Ceci n'est pas une title screen!" translates to "This is not a title screen!".…

What is fire culture? What does that even mean? Well, I guess to know, you have to know something about what culture is and what cumulative it deposits of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, hierarchies, religion and more. Now imagine having to live with people you do not know and having different work experience, beliefs, background, age etc. Well, that is what firefighters do. How does this work you may ask? It works because they have the same goals, the same values, and there is not really that many careers out there where you have a second family, where you know your brother or sister will not only have your back when it counts but one day may even save your life. The first shots of the Revolution rang out April 19 1775 at Lexington green. Reports say the British fired first killing eight patriots. I believe these reports to be true. There was a lot of controversy surrounding this, since none of us were there, no one can be certain on who fired first. Evidence shows the British fired first. I think based on the evidence provided it was very easy to see the British were the first to fire the shot of the revolution.…
