Hall Of Honor Analysis
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has helped and encouraged me during my time at Westerville South, and those who believed in me enough to advocate for my induction into the Hall of Excellence. I am extremely grateful to be held in such high regard by the people that I have grown to love and respect so much. I have been tasked with something even more challenging, though, and that is to convince my friends and faculty that I am worthy to be recognized as one of the highest achievers in the history of our school. I know that I am competing with some of my best friends, of whom all could easily be recognized as outstanding young men and women that are more than deserving of this award, however I hope that I can show to you how …show more content…
I was recently honored by Kiwanis as being in the academic varsity in my class, having one of the ten best cumulative gpa’s in the school. I have balanced many extracurriculars while maintaining a weighted gpa of 4.6 and an unweighted gpa of 3.99. I have received an academic letter and been on the honor roll for all four years of high school, and earned the Academic Boosters award in social studies. Furthermore, I have received a number of scholarships in recognition of my efforts both from the community and from Universities. My academic achievement stems from a lifelong love of education that I have drawn upon countless times for strength and inspiration, especially during some of my more difficult classes such as AP Chemistry and IB Physics. My parents and teachers have always been so supportive of me, and my eagerness to learn paired with a phenomenal support system have allowed me to achieve all that I have thus …show more content…
I was chosen as a Cat with Class by Mrs. Monsul, a lunch lady at Westerville South. Personally, I believe that this speaks more to my character than if I had been recommended by a teacher, as I am easygoing and respectful with everyone I come across, regardless of who they are. I in no way mean to suggest that lunch staff or custodians are less deserving of respect than teachers, but many students treat them that way, and I am proud to say that I am different from them in that regard. Similarly, countless parents have approached mine at choir concerts and volleyball games saying how much I have supported and helped their children. Pairing this with my varsity sports experience and mentoring of younger athletes, as well as Junior Mentoring, I believe that I am an impressive role model, which is something that is very important to

I feel honored to achieve the National Junior Honor Society award, ever since I received the letter informing me about how I earned the award I was very excited. This award means a lot to me and I have set high goals all school year ever since hearing about it. Every day I come to school and set high goals for myself whether it’s to earn all A’s, learn something new, or get an award. I feel education is very important and so far all this school year I only have been absent once and I’ve never been late. However, I don’t think all the credit should go to me, if it weren't for my parents I wouldn’t have gotten myself to where I am today. Their belief in me to achieve greatness inspires me. Throughout my life, they also helped answer all my questions, and still do. All though it’s not just my parents who deserve the credit the amazing teachers who have taught me throughout my entire life deserve some credit too, without their amazing teaching skills I wouldn’t be earning this award today.…

Throughout my four years of high school, I have consistently pushed myself beyond my limits and comfort zones in attempt to discover my place in the world. I spent most of first two years discovering who I was as an individual, ultimately manifesting into inspiration for success. I grew out of “fitting in” and decided to turn my life and aspirations towards a greater direction; on this road of discovery, I separated myself from those who valued arrogance and indifference. “Nerd Squad” is what I am a part of today, which is why I am currently confident enough to apply for the National Honors Society Scholarship. I believe I have grown into a tenacious, sympathetic, and joyous young man that the entire school has seen develop, and I am honored…

I went to St. Michael School from Kindergarten through Eighth grade, so when it came time to leave for high school, I was not excited for the change. St. Michael was especially small in regards to student population. We had just under three hundred students split between all nine grades. That left roughly twenty to thirty kids per class. I was extremely used too this small environment and not exactly looking forward to the terrors of high school towering over me nor the thought of being lost in the sea of students. Over the years I was extremely imbedded in my academics. I had straight A’s for my entire time at St. Michael. I received the academic achievement award at Eighth grade promotion for having the highest GPA in my class. Despite this, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to live up…

Being raised from the Delta, I had/have to overcome many obstacles. My biggest barrier is being successful after high school because of the circumstances I face living in Indianola, MS. It may be a hitch, but it is not impossible to overcome it. Everyday I strive to not fall under the stereotype that if black people are given something difficult, then they want do it. I have a 3.4 GPA, I am a founding member of the Mighty Rams Honor Society. The MRHS is designed to honor, challenge and develop those students who have shown a commitment to the advancement of the school`s mission and vision for themselves and their classmates. I am honored to be apart of that organization. It is my greatest achievement yet. I am also a member of the National Tech Honor Society.…

My overall grade point average (GPA) was a 2.97; however, my GPA for the last 60 hours in my major ranked a 4.0. Every semester I accomplished being named to the Dean’s List. I was also a member of several student organizations: Student Veterans of America, Future Business Leaders of America, NAACP, Mass Choir, and Xchange Ministries. As for my volunteer activities, I loved helping nontraditional students at night with learning basic computer skills, tutoring migrant workers to speak and write English and help Habitat for Humanity families beautify their new homes. As far as recognitions and awards, I have been nominated and chosen for Employee of the Semester, Outstanding Administrative Personnel and have received many “Caught You Caring” recognitions for exhibiting outstanding excellence while on the…

Since its establishment, the National Honor Society has been built upon the core values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Throughout the years, National Honor Society has upheld these pillars, and its outstanding club members strive to embody these values in every aspect of their lives. However, these four principles add up to become something much more over the course of National Honor Society’s lifetime -- its legacy. These four honorable tenets are what constitutes a legacy, and I wish to become an individual who represents all of these core values -- and more. I genuinely believe that I exemplify most of the qualities that National Honor Society values, and though I am aware that I am still lacking in some, I will work…

National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for me; something that I am really excited to be apart of. I’ve been tossing and turning in bed for the past month wondering what to write or how to prepare myself for such an extraordinary honor to become apart of the NJHS. All through my life I’ve thought of myself as a leader, never a follower. I would love to be apart of this establishment to share my thoughts and ideas for fundraisers and collecting donations, but also to listen and consult of what others have to say because there is no leader without the help of his/her people. I believe I possess all the qualities to be apart of the NJHS; Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. I enjoy helping the needy and have participated in some charities. For example, the Relay for Life charity that donates money to former or new cancer patients undergoing chemo therapy. My mother and I attend every year and donate money. We also have a grand old time going, participating and helping out because my mother is a breast cancer…
