Halloween Horror Nights-Personal Narrative
On a random Sunday afternoon, waking suddenly to the sound this heavy pounding, sounding like an elephant stampede coming closer and closer. Knowing who will be charging in my room, I brace myself for her intrusion. Amanda, my older sister, swiftly opens the door, not even knocking. Moving quickly, as she plops down on my bed. Her feet dangling over the bed, being too short to have her feet touch the ground. A devilish grin forms across her face, instantly I know she wants something. Giving her a blank stare, I sit noticing her hair is all over the place, like bad sex hair.
“What do you want?” I ask in a stern voice
“Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to Halloween Horror Nights with me and the girls tonight?”
“Ugh Amanda, first off I don’t have the money. Secondly I have class tomorrow,” I say utterly annoyed.

Kylie decided to be the slutty teacher, wearing her tank top and yoga pants three sizes too small for her. Proceeding to push her big boobs out of her tank top. Basically screaming, “Come and get them boys.”
While Jen sits proudly in her teacher attire of an oversized striped shirt, bermuda shorts, and croc flip-flops. Jen is a little bit over weight, though she likes to hide her curves, not flaunts them.
Walking to our family suite, I feel like this trip might me a dud. I really didn’t want to hear them complain about work all night. Walking through the door, all three of their demeanors shift. Hearing a sudden pop from the champagne bottle opening, and them screaming, “Let the festivities begin.”
Laughing hysterically as Jen dances around the room, singing 80’s songs in sync with her mini speakers. Prancing around the room, looking like a dying robot, she sings loudly “If you could feel my heartbeat now, it would hit you like a sledgehammer, sledge-sledgehammer.” Witnessing this horribly hilarious dancing I realize tonight won’t be so

Most teenage girls in America are obsessed with their looks. If this shirt does not fit right or that lipstick does not match, then more than likely a girl’s entire day is thrown off. Throughout the story, Connie more than proved this theory by constantly checking how she looked. It was as if her appearance was her most prized possession; without looking great or turning heads, who was she? “Her heart began to pound and her fingers snatched at her hair, checking it, and she whispered, "Christ. Christ," wondering how bad she looked” (Oates 2). This conceited…

A search of Derrick Robinson’s cell phone was done and at 4:46 a.m. an incoming call was received from (910) 644-7834. The phone number was checked through several Police data bases with negative results. I then searched the phone number through Facebook and learned it was assigned to a J-Rock Ru. I then attempted to see if this was the same J-Rock that went to Emily Hamlin residence on the night of the Homicide.…

The hard brush of wind brought me out of my shocked trance, i couldn’t believe it, but I had to. That ugly truth brought tears to my eyes and suddenly i was a heap of despair and misery on the ground. It was just sitting there, mocking me, almost foretelling how the night would proceed, it would be me in that low cut, cleavage showing dress, that alone brought my anxiety up to its highest. I was not one for socializing let alone a party filled with the most prestigious people in my field. Not only was i expected to speak, but i was going to have to face it alone. No, you know what, i’m going to do this, i’m gonna put on that dress and kick some butt. Change can affect us in many different ways, it can be overwhelming and fast or it could be…

My body shoots up suddenly and vomit arises from throat. My head is pounding. It feels like it’s banging against the window of a moving bus. It’s an earthquake. I rush to the bathroom, chunks spewing out of my mouth as I run. I hear a creak. My mind registers another presence in the room. I am afraid. I slowly turn my head cautiously, my face frozen is fear, eyes widening as I take in the figure before me. "Beth" I whisper…

A 12 year old girl walks into her first period class on a hot thursday in May. She is completely ready to study for the huge test she has tomorrow, but oh no, HER SHOULDERS ARE SHOWING! No students say anything to her because they are just as warm as her. They all mind their own business unaware of the fact that she is breaking the dress code. Until the teacher walks in, he looks around his classroom checking to see if their are any indecencies and sees little stephanie’s shoulders! He doesn’t know what to do, so he does what any good teacher would do, and calls her to the front of the room. “Stephanie are you aware that the whole school can see your shoulders? You must upkeep the dignity of this district and by wearing what you are doing the exact opposite of that.” He proceeds to spend the rest of the class talking about the dress code. Stephanie is forced to stand in front of the class for the duration speech. With the last ten minutes of class she is asked to go down to the nurse to get a more appropriate shirt on. By this time no one in the class got to study for the important test they would be taking the next day and stephanie has been on the verge of tears for a half an hour.…

I slammed the bathroom door shut behind me, locking it and pulling open the top drawer of the vanity so that it was blocking the door. I threw a hand over my mouth to stifle my laughter. I can’t believe Amy fell for that again! She’s always got her nose stuck in her books. Maybe if she actually went outside for once and stopped being such a loser than she would have the dexterity to not fall for my trick. I get a great deal of joy from provoking my sister and seeing her squirm, like a snake cornering a mouse. I mean, really, I tell her all the time that reading those dumb horror books aren’t going to get her anywhere, but she’s annoyingly persistent. I placed Amy’s book down on the back of the toilet and leaned against the door. I jolted slightly…

While watching “American Horror Story”, I tried to piece together what was happening based on the facial expressions, body language, and overall tone of each image. Some scenes were easier than others. I found myself becoming frustrated when a scene would only consist of two people sitting and talking because it was almost impossible to understand. Although I did become frustrated during certain parts, I felt I was more aware of what the camera angles and cut scenes were portraying, and I was shocked at how much of the story line I could deduce without sound or speech. Most days, I watch shows with closed caption (CC), so I usually focus on what the people are saying and the CC. I do not closely analyze how the actors/actresses…
