Hamlet Essay On Ophelia

Earth is filled with this thing called humans,these humans have feelings. In the story Hamlet by William Shakespeare a character known as Laertes shows his care to another character known as Ophelia.Laertes cares about Ophelia more than any other character as he cares about her future and virginity. Laertes being the brother of Ophelia has seen everything she has gone through and only wants the best for here future.Ophelia has been seeing Hamlet which will have negative effects on how she is being portrayed.Laertes shows care by telling Ophelia that,”They weigh what loss your honor may stain”(1.3.24). What Laertes is trying to say is that seeing him can impact her later in the future and it will always be in her background. Laertes wants Ophelia future to have a clean slate setting her up for success not failure. But many don't see Lateres as the one who cares rather they see Polonius who cares most. Polonius shares his advice about money and how it is to be properly used. For example, a piece of this advice is to, “ Neither a borrower nor a lender be For loan oft loses both itself and friend”(1.3.75-76).Polonius is trying to tell her that by lending money it will only end with
Laertes has shown care constially. Polonius know how much he cares by saying, “Marry,well bethought”(1.3.20). This shows that polonius knows that laertes cares. Laertes shows care by taking about topics not usually discussed between a brother and sister. Laertes tells her that if she,”Lose your heart,or your chaste treasure open to his unmastered importunity Fear it Ophelia fear it my dear sister and keep you in the rear of your affection out of the shot and danger of desire”(1.3.31-35). Lateres knows what is going on in the mind of a boy. He doesn't wants Ophelia to open up as Hamlet can always move one and Ophelia will have lost her virginity for nothing.
