He suffered neglect from his family and felt as if he had no one to turn to. Every day in America kids are diagnosed with depression, and a significant amount of them have the medical disease because of family issues. His father was one of the most important figures in his life and without him Hamlet felt lost and like wherever he turned he was alone. It did not help that his mother got remarried very shortly after his father’s death occurred. It seemed as if she was not even concerned about his death and was just waiting for him to be gone. This made everything so much harder for Hamlet. Teenagers today have to put up with the same problems and their family members may not realize how much of an affect their decisions have on them.
