Hannah Kent's Burial Rites

A Letter (FORM) has been written from Agnes’s perspective (VOICE) directed towards her mother before she is executed. The letter is a personal account of Agnes’s experiences after her mother left her. It gives the reader an opportunity to view her innermost thoughts, but is specific to her mother, compared to a diary entry which is just meant for personal reading. This piece is written in First person, which enables the readers to feel quite sorry for Agnes as she writes and reflects on her past without a key aspect being part of her life.
