Hard Times At The Huskin Bee: Chapter Analysis
accidently hurt the woodsman in the process of trying to escape the danger of the dog. While running through the mill trying to escape the dog, the boys also destroy the mill. The dog gets caught in the wheel of the mill and a black turtle is spit from the throat of the choking dog. The dog returns to normal. Once the woodsman wakes up he forbids the boys from returning to the mill and the brothers continue on their journey through the unknown (cartoonnetwork).
Chapter 2: Hard Times at the Huskin’ Bee Wirt and Gregory follow the path the woodsman suggested. Along the journey, they help a bluebird named Beatrice. As a favor, she promises to take them to Adelaide of the pasture. They continue to follow the path and find a town known

Both Gregory and Wirt harvest crops and pick stalks of corn. Their last and final task is to dig very deep holes. While digging the holes Gregory finds a skeleton, as does Wirt. Before the two brothers can escape, Enoch and the townspeople check on the boys’ progress. Meanwhile, Beatrice is trying to undo the chains linked around her ankle. Beatrice unchains herself and Gregory, while Wirt is trying to distract Enoch and the others. As Wirt is talking, the skeletons from the holes are revitalized and start to dance and talk. They put on the carved pumpkins the townspeople provided and dance with their companions. Enoch thanks the boys and asks if they would like to stay but gets rejected. Enoch walks away insisting they will all meet again soon, and the boys continue to find their way back home …show more content…
As a result, he runs from the path that the trio was following and discovers an old schoolhouse. The students of the school house are an assortment of forest animals. The teacher is a grief-driven maiden named Ms. Langtree. She yearns for her lost boyfriend Jimmy Brown. Gregory refuses to enter the school house, while Wirt stays inside and learns the lesson. Gregory is outside playing games with the other animals when suddenly, a wild gorilla begins to chase him and his companions. Gregory finds safety in the schoolhouse during mealtime. To distract the animals from their bland meal, Gregory sings a song and dances an un-choreographed dance. At approximately this time, Mr. Langtree decides to visit and is morally disappointed when he discovers the school he is funding is not being properly cared for. He then confiscates all the instruments the animals were playing and camps out in the woods nearby. While Mr. Langtree is asleep Wirt and Gregory steal his instruments. The next morning, Mr. Langtree is awakened by music and discovers his instruments had been stolen. He walks to the schoolhouse and is surprised by a benefit concert being held to fund for the school. It is eventually discovered that the wild gorilla on the loose is Ms. Langtree’s boyfriend, Jimmy Brown, who got stuck in the gorilla costume while performing in a traveling circus.
