Hard Work Pays Off

Work is a huge part of my life, always has been, always will. My whole childhood my parents raised my siblings and I so we’d become self-dependent. I have so many friends whose parents would just hand them money left and right. I find it so unfair that some kids are literally handed anything they ask for. I think it’s cruel and setting your child up to fail in the future. I think every high school student should have a job. Whether it’s at a fast food joint, or the local retail store. I started working at the age of eleven. I held this job for almost eight years! After leaving my first job, I started babysitting. I’ve always had some form of income coming in for myself, unlike many of my peers. I’ve always been a determined hard worker. In order to become financially responsible adults, I believe everyone should manage their money at a young age. All through my childhood I raised money for myself. I could buy whatever I needed. Saving money well is a great habit when managing money as a part of growing up. With money, comes maturity. I always had a quicker and more intelligent financial strategy with handling my money .My parents had the responsibility to educate me with financial basics. They showed me how to bank, how to deposit checks, and even how to withdraw money from the bank. All my childhood I developed common sense to money and start to realize how things worked money-wise. My first huge splurge was my investment in my 2003 Jeep Liberty! I bought this at the young age of sixteen! Whereas all my friends didn’t have a way of transportation, I had all this money saved. I was so proud of myself driving home that day in my very own car! I had a few friends that were literally handed keys from their parents. I look at those kids now and wonder how they’re doing in college, away from their parents I bet those kids won’t do as well as the hardworking kids as adults.
