Katniss Everdeen from the hunger games always questions the society she lives in, her most important contribution was her rebellion mindset at the end of the movie when the capital forced her and Peeta into kill each other and the survivor would be noted as the winner, but Katniss and Peeta decided to rebel against the capital by threatening to commit suicide with Peeta and force them into changing the rules to have two winners instead of one. In ‘Harrison Bergeron” the protagonist Harrison Bergeron has very rebellious attitude towards the society and government, He believes everyone should live without any limitation as shown by him freeing the musicians and the ballerina to dance with. His most important act of rebellion was when he broke all of his handicap devices on live television to show that he does not believe in the current society views and laws. Democracy just doesn’t exist in a dystopian society and both “ The Hunger Games” and “ Harrison Bergeron” are prime examples of society that lacks democracy. Both of the societies are ruled under a totalitarianism government. In “The Hunger Games” the capital rules everything with little to no consideration for the people, that is especially shown in the part when Katniss’s little sister was chosen as tribute for district 12, she was going to be forced to compete in a annual event in which she has to fight for her life against other bigger and stronger opponent, but Katniss intervened to volunteer as tribute to represent her district instead of her sister. The capital also does not give any district or person any sort of power to elect or change the ruling government. Over in the “Harrison Bergeron” side, things are bit more silent, but still as bad. The government in society has slowly made changes to the constitution to give itself high powers and rule over people in totalitarianism style which is evidenced by the all the handicap devices it’s using to have a upper hand on peoples life in the hopes of achieving equality but punishing and torturing people. “There will come soft rains” is quiet different there is solid evidence to show that the government pushed for a totalitarianism
