Code of Ethics Paper
An organization’s mission statement is a written declaration of its core purpose and focus, which remains unchanged over time. When properly crafted, a mission statement will serve as a filter of what is important and what is not. Which market the organization intends to serve and how, as well as the envisioned direction of the entire organization ("Businessdictionary.com", 2014). Usually summarized in the mission statement, the core values refer to the principle that guides an organizations internal conduct, as well as its relationship with the external world ("Businessdictionary.com", 2014). The written set of guidelines an organization issues to its workforce to help them conduct their actions in accordance with its primary values and ethical standards is the …show more content…
code of ethics ("Businessdictionary.com", 2014). While these three statements are important in any organization or industry, they are held to a much higher standard when applied in a health care setting.

This service includes providing care to people who cannot afford to pay for it (January, 2008). This statement made under their 2008 financial purpose and mission report for the community the hospital serves. Scottsdale Lincoln Health Network is committed to providing the best care possible for all of our patients. Their mission is to assist each person entrusted in their care to enjoy the fullest gift of health possible, and to work with others to build a community where a helping hand is available for our most vulnerable
members.
The care this organization gives each patient and their community attracts patients from all over the world and from all walks of life. The decision to care for people through many different entities such as physician offices around the valley, missions established to feed less fortunate families, and specialty practices such as breast health give this organization an award winning reputation. Many hospitals operate to treat and care for their patients and the relationship ends upon discharge. Scottsdale Lincoln states in their mission to improve the health and well- being of the people they serve. The decision to be accountable as a team to help the individual reach and maintain their healthcare goals sets this organization a step above other hospitals in the valley.
Ethics plays and important part in any organization’s decision making because of one’s emotional connection to healthcare and social status. Patients will make decisions based upon their cultural and ethical beliefs and those decisions rely on their social status in their communities. Hospitals that are business as Scottsdale Lincoln should learn what health related issues affect the communities around them. Scottsdale Lincoln has made a commitment to serve their communities through missions and healthcare offices throughout Arizona. Patients will pass the level of healthcare they receive from organizations to others in their communities. The influence Scottsdale Lincoln has made upon consumers and stakeholders make this establishment a force to be reckoned with for the future in regards to healthcare organizations.
