The health care industry is the most controversial and talked about industry in the world. In this paper one can see how significant that changes have been and possibly what is to come in the future. Also how the economic times have affected the health care industry and if there will be significant changes financially as well.
In the past 10 years there have been a many significant changes in the health care system, and the most change that many will say they have noticed would be the cost of health care. According to "Healthcare 5, 10, 20 Years in The Past and Future" (2012), “ten years ago, U.S. healthcare cost was $4700 per person and in 2000, 13.1 percent were uninsured”. Another big change is that of the quality of care patients receive as well as the technologies, and great improvements made to several procedures; such has back surgeries, cosmetic surgeries and even labor and delivery. All of these new procedures can show why the cost of the health care has gone up, however, the quality of care received in some facilities does not equate to the amount of monies coming out of the patients pockets. One can only hope that the biggest change in health care n the next 10 years will be the cost of medication. Although, there are probably going to be many changes in health care in the next 10 years such as; laws and regulations as those are always changing and developing, the quality of care bed side manner from both the doctors and the nursing staff, the number of employees will greatly change and more than likely triple the amount of health care staff in all different areas of the health care field. Another change that many may not think about is the design of health care facilities especially hospitals’.
