Most commercial polypropylene is isotactic and has an intermediate level of crystallinity between that of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Polypropylene is normally tough and flexible, especially when copolymerized with ethylene. This allows polypropylene to be used as an engineering plastic, competing with…

A total hip joint replacement usually composed of two main components articulating with one another, a polymeric acetabular cup against a metal or ceramic femoral head component [1]. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a key player in the total hip joint replacement as an acetabular cup since more than half a century, due to their unique properties such as high wear resistance, strength and modulus, excellent toughness, chemical resistance and impact, low moisture absorption, good wave transmission, and electrical insulation [2]. This does not preclude that there are many materials have been used for this purpose such as; polytetrafluoroethylene (PTEF), polyarylether ether ketone (PEEK), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyoxymethylene…

Weather and climate modification modern American history through cloud seeding began when Irving Langmuir and Vincent Schaefer, General Electric Company scientists found a way to modify clouds, which was by seeding the clouds with dry ice pellets, this was twenty years ago. Their coworker, Bernard Vonnegut, demonstrated that a different method would accomplish the same result, which was by using a smoke of silver crystals of iodide. On November 13, 1946, these American scientists had experimentally verified the theory by the Swedish meteorologist, Tor Bergeron, and the German physicist, Walter Findeisen, advanced in 1933 that if clouds contained the right mixture of supercooled water drops and ice crystals they would precipitate. (Weather and Climate, 9)…

The HAIS pipe was a “3” lead pipe, 2 layers of prepared tape, 1 layer of bitumen cotton, 4 layers of mild steel tape, jute bedding, a layer of steel armor wires, and an outermost layer of jute servings(PLUTO,PLUTO PIPELINE,PIPELINE UNDER THE OCEAN, Nov. 2014)”. Variants of these pipes are still used today for the transport of oil and gas under the ocean. During testing, they found out that the HAMEL pipe was the main pipe, but HAIS pipe was used on the end.
