When I looked closer I noticed the other details and how in depth the photo got. I question why the photo isn’t finished, that is a great mystery. Besides the unfinished parts of the piece, I like the way El Greco set the tone in the photo with the light sky and the beautiful clothing the people are wearing. The artist understood the passage really well and I love the way he explained the passage so deeply with the details. El Greco’s painting portrays Mark 10:46-47 very well. After looking at the painting, it made me notice the other people’s reactions more than I did just reading the passage. I feel that the artist could have done a better job of painting the crowd and their actions; I would have thought more emotions from the crowd. I also think that El Greco could have made the people and their reactions more clear to me; it is hard to see what any of the people on the left side are doing. Overall, I found the painting by El Greco very convoluted but very beautiful because of its strong detail and its intricate use of colors to define the theme.
