Part 1
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: Making sure you eat right by having the proper nutrition, exercise and making sure you avoid any harmful habits, such as smoking or drinking too much. Physical health is important to me because diabetes is a common disease that has affected my family for as long as I remember.
Social health: Social health to me is important because sometimes we all get in those moods were we don’t want to be around anyone and just want to keep to ourselves but that isn’t the healthiest thing so we should always try to get out and hangout with our friends, family and co-workers.
Intellectual health: Knowing more about what can lead to a healthier you will help you accomplish intellectual health with in you. It helps me to read about new things that may be healthier for me, like new diets and exercise.
Environmental health: “A healthier planet leads to a healthier you.” A couple ways that I involve environmental health in my life is making sure to recycle and making sure our planet is clean by picking up unnecessary things that may be harmful to the planet.
Emotional health: Understanding all our emotions and being able to express them is very important when it comes to emotional health. For example it is important to me that I try not to blow up in someone face because I don’t feel that they were in the right.
Spiritual health: Feeling as if we have a purpose in life and meaningful. Making sure I wake up each and knowing that today will be a good day is how I express my spiritual health.
