Health And Safety At Work Act 1974
The goal of the health and safety at work act 1974 was to create a single comprehensive system of regulatory law covering health and safety in the UK. The law imposes general duties upon employers and employees, the three primary objectives are to:
Secure the health, safety and welfare of people at work
Protect people other than the employees or employer at work against risks to health or safety arising out of, or in connection with, the activities of people at work
Control the keeping and use of explosive or flammable or other dangerous substances, and generally prevent the unlawful possession and use of such substances.
