Bii PDP can help a social worker identify improvements in their knowledge, understand and practice by allowing them to see areas tat may be lacking in knowledge or need updating. By reviewing a PDP the worker can ensure an understanding of theory based learning and put this into professional practice.
Biii & Biv There are a number of sources I would use to plan and review my development. I would start with my manager and using reviews and supervision sessions gain feedback on my professional development and gather any information about where im lacking in knowledge in places. I have also used on-line resources that give sign poses for health care workers and more specifically university guidance notes on what I need to achieve to gain entry to undertake my midwifery training.
I meet with my assessor and we undertake reviews of my learning.
Bv During my supervision sessions my manager is able to discuss my strengths at work and areas that need further development. My manager is in a postion to give unbiased feedback in all areas of my work.
Having group meetings with other social care workers is a good opportunity for honest discussion and often allow us to share our experience of good practice.
The people I have identified will help me to develop andvbnb improve my practice effectively.
