Through the patient-driven adaptive technologies, patients and family members can easily access the health information, reports, recommendations and others, which promotes the efficiency and effectiveness of communication between health care team and the patients. It minimizes many complications associated with poor communications. In addition, it maintains the patient’s privacy, minimizes medical errors, “improve the availability and timeliness of information to support treatment decision, care coordination and care planning”(The Office of the National coordinator for health information and Technology, 2013). Furthermore, it makes the system easy to report safety issues and give patients an opportunity to provide more efficient health inputs, which maintains the safety and quality of patient care.
