The career choice that I chose to become acquainted with after I graduate is Health Information Technician, (Coding and Billing). The role of a Health Information Technician is to have the patients fill out the appropriate forms. Health Information Technicians check with physicians or other health care personnel to verify accuracy or get additional information, make sure that data is complete and safeguard it from people who are not involved with patients ' healthcare. (Anjus Chiedozie, 2013) As becoming a Health Information Technician you have qualifications that needs to be fulfilled before you can have your degree as a HIT. Aspiring Health Information Technicians need at least an Associate Degree. This could be obtained from two-year programs at community colleges or technical schools. Depending on general knowledge, specialization or the type of school, the degrees are offered in subject areas, such as Medical Billing and Coding, Health Information Technology or Systems, and Health Care Administration or management. Employers prefer hiring people with a Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT) credential from various professional associations, such as the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). I’m getting excited and eager to finish my degree. So I can be the best at what I desire to become an HIT. Since I been In the HealthCare Field for over 8 Years Now, I Have Learned a lot. I started to become More Interested In certain things and different areas. My Interest lead me to HIT because you have patients that ask you certain questions that you cannot answer then you start to wonder how you could help them with their problem. So I decided to go back to school and get a degree in HIT, but I didn’t know that there where so many different fields to choose from. My Career Goal is to complete my Associates Degree so I can become a HIT (Coders and Billing). As I learned so much about my Career I have developed a Long-term Goal which is to Further My Education to get my Bachelor and Master’s Degree in (RHIA) Registered Health Information Administrator. I believe that I have chosen the career path for my growth and professional development.
