This topic was chosen because obesity considerably affects the most essential aspects of health, as well as being a local issue it is a national issue and it can be extremely detrimental to health to the point of causing death. In England the British 1990 growth reference (UK90) was recommended for monitoring the weight of the population and for clinical assessment in children aged four years and over.
