I grown up in Iraq under horrible conflict made me realize if I survived I would only see a bright future and do not let my personal experience keep me living in fear. Every night before I go sleep, I was looking at my family as if I am not going to wake up in the morning. My mother has a cancer and my father was not able to work because of health problems, so losing my family was a fact I faced it during my childhood. The terrifying from being killed by rocket of get shot from random people caused me to be mature and responsible at young age. War taught me to appreciate every single breath I take and made me decide to make a difference in the community. The war made me have a passion in life and since then I have approached life with a desire to help others. Having first hand experiences on the war, I have always wanted to become a person that can make a change and touch someone’s heart in a positive way especially, saving a life as I treasure every moment of …show more content…
The experience I gained during that time made me realize my capabilities, and instilled a strong sense of self-confidence. Today, I am able to take my leadership abilities and work within my community through founding an elderly project in my church. I believe that my personal experience provides an emotion motivation to seek out new learning environments and offer my contribution to be among the best graduates in UCI. Someday I hope to either return to my country or another country in need with the ‘Doctors without borders”
