In this assignment I aim to apply different influences of health, wellbeing and occupation to an individual with depression, create and apply a health promotion plan to address the service users individualised needs, and I will also include an evidence based rationale.
I am going to choose a client who’s going by the name of Mr A, I work with Mr A at my placement (hospital) and I am going to relate the assignment to him, Mr A is a male and he is 41 years old and unemployed. Mr A has a wife and 2 children under the age of 12. The client has depression, depression is a common mental health disorder, Mr A has many of the usual symptoms of depression like feeling low, low self-worth, fatigue and loss of appetite (Nhs.uk, 2018). The social model’s theories are intertwined to the Mr A, and the theories under the social model have numerous evidence to support their findings and a common lay view was that mental health is affected by and a response to the broader social factors like the environment (Tew, 2005).
