Over time, the development of several partnerships between hospitals and the physicians that work there is considered an integrated physician model. The types of places this model could be seen are acute care hospitals, nursing homes, employed physicians for primary care and independent medical groups to name a few (Harrison, 2016). The goal behind the integrated physician model is for an agreement between both the hospital and the physician that will benefit the health care system as whole. There is a model that suggests hospitals work under an agreement with physicians that will market a successful network. In this case, physicians are in a shared partnership with the hospital. Another option is physicians working for the hospital, allowing…

The mandate to change the prevailing culture from opinion-based practice to evidence-based practice has influenced models designed as decision –making approaches to advance the integration of simulation education methods in higher education health professional programs, specifically among undergraduate and graduate education nursing programs. Simulation is one of the most rapidly growing strategies in clinical education and defining the best practices for dissemination is essential to the integration process. The intent of this workshop is to facilitate the opportunity to explore an approach to seek evidence-based outcomes in the process of simulation integration in clinical nursing professional education. Doing things many times without proof or data indicating efficacy is probably a waste of time, talent and money. The efforts in education and technology for simulation integration require each of us to give serious attention to capability-building and center development strategies.…

Going to the Simulation lab always evokes some sort of tensed feeling for me due to the fact that I feel like being analyzed critically by my professors and instructors. This is more difficult and stressful because I imagine being on stage performing to an audience who know far more than you do you the extent that your mistakes would never escape their eagle eyes. Despite these kinds of feelings, I felt this sim lab was an improvement of my performance in terms of having the composure to make informed decisions. This happened to be second time of playing the role of a primary nurse but my first in playing a combined role of primary/treatment nurse. I could see a big improvement in my assessment skills even though I couldn’t complete a full body assessment. I was also able to effectively communicate with my team members, the patient and the family member.…
The simulation will help the future practice of nursing since it enables one to develop critical thinking skills and clinical decision-making skills which are crucial in nursing practice. The simulation also brings the importance of teamwork when taking care of the patients, this simulation enlightened students on the relevance of teamwork in nursing practice (Durham & Alden, 2008).Communication skills gained will also help in effective communication among team members which is essential for a successful teamwork in nursing practice. Simulation increased knowledge, understanding on taking care of patients and improved confidence among students that is a necessity when practicing nursing and taking care of patients. The simulation enhances the ability to respond effectively to change and how to deal with the situation, which is part practicing nursing. All in all the skills and techniques learned made one ready for the future practice without…
