How would you conduct a diagnosis of the situation at HealthCo?
“In today’s fast-paced world, it is more difficult than ever before to conduct a thorough organizational diagnosis…without reasonably thorough diagnosis, mistakes in implementation of the change are more likely. For example missing the fact that many people do not have sufficient experience and expertise to make some interventions work can derail the initiative” (Burke, 256). HealthCo’s CEO, Dr. Palmer has realized there are some issues within HealthCo and wants them to be fixed immediately. Dr. Palmer’s first diagnosis was of the turnover rate at HealthCo and how it was “1.5 times the industry average. While HealthCo was competitive about salary, benefits seemed to be an area needing improvement” (Cummings, 520). A preliminary diagnosis of HealthCo would give insight on how they are functioning along with the information necessary to design the proper change intervention. Colgate-Palmolive has been on the top of the work-life benefit list of companies for two years consecutively, “Encouraging a healthy balance between work and personal responsibilities” appears in a list of employer priorities shared on the company’s careers page, and perks like nearby childcare centers; emergency in-home care for dependents; tuition assistance; health, legal, and financial counseling services; and relocation assistance feature prominently in an outline of employee compensation and benefits (Dill). In order for HealthCo to compete and reach the top 100 or top 25 best companies with work life balance the following key issues will need to be
