Grading Rubrics
Your PSA and supporting pamphlet will be graded using the following rubric: Points Earned | Criterion | 100 | Presentation indicates a deep comprehension of the disease, illness or addiction. Presentation is elegant, logical and grounded in the evidence. | 90 | Presentation indicates deep comprehension of the disease, illness or addiction. Presentation is logical and grounded in the evidence. | 80 | Presentation indicates comprehension of the disease, illness or addiction. Presentation is logical and grounded in the evidence. | 70 | Presentation indicates superficial comprehension of the disease, illness or addiction. Presentation is somewhat logical but is not adequately grounded in the evidence. | 60 | Presentation is difficult to evaluate because it is vague or only indirectly addresses the disease, illness or addiction. |
Note: “Deep” does NOT mean verbose and lengthy. You must still be succinct and to the point! See deductions list that follows.
Deductions: For each “No” checked, your grade will be lowered by 2 percentage points Criteria | Yes | No | A minimum of 5 citations from good sources was used/cited | | | Citations within the body of the text and within the reference list of the pamphlet are identical in format to the example posted on Canvas | | | The reference list appears at the very end of the pamphlet | | | Statements and/or groups of statements within the pamphlet are followed by at least two relevant citations | | | All references listed within the reference section are cited within the body of the pamphlet at least once | | | Pamphlet is typed and in a readable font | | | Writing is consistently succinct and to the point | | | Writing is clear and coherent | | | Writing is free of grammatical, spelling, punctuation
