An early form of bowling may be over 7,000 years old. Contents of an ancient Egyptian grave have provided archeologists with evidence of implements used for playing a game similar to bowling. Polynesians participated in an ancient game of bowling using elliptical balls and round, flat stone disks. The game was called Ula Maika. Bowling at pins started as a religious ceremony and developed into a sport. Characteristics of bowling may be found in an Italian game called "boccie" and a German game called "kegle", but the Dutch are given the credit for introducing the game in North America. The original ninepins game became very popular. Because gambling during the game was prevalent in many areas, a law was enacted to prohibit ninepin bowling. A tenth pin was added to create the game of tenpins in order to get around the law. That happend probably between 1820 and 1830.…

I’m a student, and I myself experience that to some extent. All day I sit at school and study, which is not easy. Teachers give me a lot of information, and I am supposed to not only listen but also reply to them. Responding needs some energy, and energy you can get from eating, eating not what is tasty, but eating healthy food. My mom, thank her, every day used to give me some snack to school and it was helpful. Also doing exercise is good, but I don’t have time for it. Of course, there are stressful situations after which I have a headache and lose my weight, which is clearly not good. Again, my family is with me and supports me. Everything that happens with me I read in this research. I’m glad that students have time and make some researches. It is a global problem. If the administrations of colleges or universities pay attention what kind of food they sell, make importance of exercise and engage health care centers to help students in stressful situations, it will help them to study and be healthy or strive to be healthy, because they will know that they are not alone and they can ask for…
Health is a crucial and complicated matter of people’s life. It is essential to explore health from many different aspects. Health depends of every personal situation that may impact on human being therefore it is required to look at it from an individual perspective (Y158, cited in L185 Block 3 Session 2, p.7). Factors that may reflect on an individual’s health can be distinguished as internal and external. This essay will concentrate more specifically firstly on psychological aspects, as an element of internal factors and secondly on school interventions, as a part of external factors, followed by examples.…
Health is the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living being.Personal health depends partially on the active, passive, and assisted cues people observe and adopt about their own health. These include personal actions for preventing or minimizing the effects of a disease, usually a chronic condition, through integrative care. They also include personal hygiene practices to prevent infection and illness, such as bathing and washing hands with soap; brushing and flossing teeth; storing, preparing and handling food safely; and many others. The information gleaned from personal observations of daily living - such as about sleep patterns, exercise behavior, nutritional intake, and environmental features -may be used to inform personal decisions and actions, as well as clinical decisions and treatment plans. Personal health also depends partially on the social structure of a person's life. The maintenance of strong social relationships, volunteering, and other social activities have been linked to positive mental health and even increased longevity. In conclusion it should be included that, in order to be healthy every single person is responsible for his or her physical condition. If people follows the rules and regulation and practice mental relaxation simultaneously, then probably they can lead a healthy life. Personally I believe, healthiness is not only related with the better physical condition, but also related with the better psychological condition as…

By providing Family Centred Care and allowing the presence of a primary care giver it is not only important for the emotional health of a hospitalised child, it can also help the family to feel involved in the care and decision making, it also allows parents to remain in control of their child and have a positive effect on the family’s health as a whole, with reports showing that the biggest cause of stress for parents of hospitalised children is the lack of parental control (Corlett & Twycross, 2006) this can lead to further health issues for the parents if they are under great stress with figures showing that almost half of parents who have a critically ill child suffer post-traumatic stress and depression (Lautrette, Darmon & Megarbane…
Family life style has a big impact and influence on one’s health choices either it is good or bad. I was born and raised in Vietnam, which is one of the agricultural countries in the world. Therefore, vegetable and fruits were various and plenty. For that reason, we had learned to practice our cuisine with mainly vegetables and fruits. In addition, playing with my neighbors and swimming in the beach were what I did for entertainment when I was young. Thanks to the background I have experienced, having plenty of vegetables in meal or going outdoor physical activities have become normal in my daily life. Until now, these experiences still affect me like habits. Moreover, I do exercise three times a week for at least half hour. I sometimes walk around neighbor area with my mom. I maintain this by getting at least seven to eight hours of sleep daily, eating three meals a day, and constantly taking showers in mornings and evenings. I am going to the doctor annually for checkups. Besides that, I avoid illnesses and injuries by saying no with smoking and alcohol. I think I achieved the physical wellness in some positive degree, so I think I am at the highest level of physical dimension.…
The other thing that I do not do well to take care myself is lack of exercises. As a busy university life, I have become lazy to do exercise as there are too many others things to do. In the other hand, I sleep late and cause me to wake up late, so there is no time for me to do exercise in the morning. Furthermore, with the afternoon class, I came home around 6 o’clock. At that time I am already exhausted so I prefer stay at home and rest rather than going out to do exercises. As result, I am only doing exercise once a week which is indeed insufficient for me to have a healthy life style.…
