Thesis: Learning healthy habits is an important part of a young person’s education.

I. Healthy eating habits are essential for a healthy life.
A. Healthy eating habits give you plenty of energy. 1. Energy helps you perform everyday tasks like getting up in the morning. 2. Healthy eating habits give you the energy you need to survive and live a healthy life.
B. Healthy eating habits prevent and control many health problems. 1. It regulates blood sugar which if not regulated can lead to type 2 diabetes. 2. It decreases the risk of heart disease and cancer. 3. This helps maintain a healthy weight.
C. Healthy eating habits improves longevity. 1. A diet full of vitamins and minerals improves longevity. 2. Low-fat diary products make your bones strong which is important for a long life. 3. Many foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains help fight diseases to help you live a longer life.
II. Exercising is a key healthy habit.
A. Exercise combats diseases and health conditions. 1. Exercise helps prevent you from heart diseases and strokes. 2. It improves your chances of living a longer and healthier life. 3. Exercise improves your mood and helps relieve depression.
B. Exercise helps in controlling your weight. 1. It prevents your from gaining any weight. 2. Exercise promotes weight loss. 3. Exercising helps keep weight off after its been lost.

C. Exercising builds strong bones and muscles. 1. Exercise helps people with arthritis and other joint problems manage pain and do everyday tasks. 2. Exercising can strengthen your bones which will reduce your chance of bone fractures. 3. It can help you increase your muscle mass and strenghth.
III. Hygienic habits are important to learn.
A. Shower once every day and wash your hands very often. 1. Showers keep your hair and skin healthy. 2. One shower a day can improve body odor. 3. Washing your hands helps kill harmful germs in your skin. B. Brush and floss your teeth at least once a day. 1. This will prevent many oral diseases like gum disease. 2. It will cease tooth loss or decay. 3. Brushing your teeth removes dental plaque from your teeth. C. Get at least 8-10 hours of sleep everyday. 1. Sleep is the time when your body heals and recovers from any damage. 2. Getting sleep is very important to help your grow. 3. This will give you enough energy to power you through your day.

Intro: Were you aware that 58 Million People in this country are overweight? From that number around 40 Million are considered obese. In the U.S alone obesity kills about 300,000 a year! That is nearly ten percent of the U.S population , this number needs to drop urgently before its too late. What better way to start than talking about healthy habits.

Conclusion: It is evident that healthy habits need to be taught to children all over the world before it’s too late. Nearly three million people around the world die every year just because of obesity! If people do not start being educated on healthy habits that number might increase greatly in the upcoming years lets end it now.

It is suggested that you eat at least nine servings (4 ½ cups) of fruits and vegetables a day. Eating healthy is not hard you just have to have some motivation to do it.
