A- FIRST WAY I WOULD INCORPORATE CHANGE INTO MY USUAL ROUTINE TO IMPROVE MY HEART HEALTH IS BY DOING MORE VIGOROUS EXERCISE . INSTEAD OF JUST DOING SEDATE WALKING I
WOULD BOOST IT UP SO I WILL REALLY GET A CALORIC AND HEART POUNDING BURN. SECOND WAY IS BY EATING MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. THOUGH A SMALL HELPING WITH MEALS IS OK,
INCORPORATING IT AT BREAKFAST ON A LARGER SCALE WOULD BE MOREBENEFICIAL IN THE LONG
RUN.
B- CLINICAL PARAMETERS: IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO GET A YEARLY PHYSICAL AT YOUR DOCTOR’S, BUT
ACCORDING TO YOUR HEALTH TWICE YEARLY IS MORE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. I TAKE YEARLY
CHECK UPS, FULL BODY HEALTH SCREENING AND ADHERE TO MY DOCTOR’S
RECOMMENDATION FOR LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. THAT WAY I KNOW IF THERE IS
ANYTHING WRONG, HE CAN CATCH IT RIGHT AWAY AND KEEP ME ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
C- FAMILY HISTORY IS SOMETHING THAT’S ALREADY THERE AND NO ONE CAN HELP THAT. BUT
EVEN THOUGH CERTAIN DISEASES ARE PREVELANT IN MY FAMILY TREE, THAT DOES NOT MEAN
I CAN’T KEEP MY HEART AND BODY HEALTHY. I WOULD AS I SAID EARLIER, GET YEARLY
CHECKUPS, EXERCISE MORE VIGOROUSLY, EAT RIGHT MORE OFTEN AND OF COURSE TRY
AVOIDINGTOBACCO (CIGARETTES) AND LIMIT ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION.
CATEGORY 2:
FAMILY: MY FAMILY INFLUENCE ON MY HEART HEALTH IS QUITE POSITIVE, SINCE OUR EATING
HABITS ARE SO HEALTHY IT GETS TO ME SOMETIMES. BUT ITS MY ADVANTAGE. WE
CONCENTRATE ON KEEPING HEART HEALTHY BY AVOIDING TOO MUCH SUGAR, SODIUM AND
UNHEALTHY OILS AND FATS. WE ALSO KEEP ACTIVE AS MUCH AS WE CAN.
ACCESS TO FOOD.: IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, ACCESS TO FOOD IS NOT TOO FAR SINCE ALL CORNERS ITURN THERE IS A DELI OR A FAST FOOD CHAIN. I DON’T PATRONIZE WITH THESE
PLACES SIINCE THEY SELL ALL THE WRONG FOODS FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO STAY ON
HEALTHY TRACK. I MAINLY CONCENTRATE ON EATING AT HOME, WHERE I CAN CHOOSE WHAT I EAT AND MAKE IT HEALTHY.
AVAILABILITY OF PARKS AND EXERCISE FACILITIES: MY NEIGHBORHOOD IS FULL OF PARKS,
GREAT ROADS, AND GYMS. I MUST CONFESS HOWEVER, THAT I DON’T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
THESE AMNETIES, BUT THE ROADS I LOVE SINCE THEY ARE MOSTLY HILLS WITH SOME
AMAZING SCENERY. I WALK A LOT, NOT JUST FOR MY BODY, BUT ALSO FOR MY MIND. A CLEAR
MIND KEEPS TOO MUCH PRESSURE FROM THE HEART.
MEDIA: I DON’T PAY TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO MEDIA HYPE. THEY ARE MOSTLY FADS AND
ARE UNREALISTIC IN THEIR VIEWS ON HEALTH. LIKE DROP 10 POUNDS IN A WEEK OR QUIT
DRINKING AND SMOKING IN 2 WEEKS. SO UNTRUE! TO ME EVEN IF THE MEDIA HAS ITS GOOD,
WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTHY HABITS, IT DOESN’T REALLY PORTRAY THE GOOD CHOICES I LOOK
FOR. LIKE FOODS, EXERCISE TRENDS AND EVEN GOOD ADVICE ON ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO
CONSUMPTION. THEY ENDORSE THE WRONG AND STAY AWAY FROM THE GOOD.

Next I need to address exercise, I do not exercise enough currently. I do get outdoors and enjoy activities such as fishing and hiking; unfortunately I drive to the fishing spots and do not hike as much as I did when I was younger. This amount of physical activity does nothing to increase my heart rate or cardiovascular benefits. I currently have no high impact exercises such as jogging, or bicycling.…
