Due to its dramatic views, Hookipa Beach has become popular for sightseers and photographers. The Hookipa Beach Lookout is on a cliff that overlooks the surfing portion of the beach. During wintertime, huge waves break against the short with blowing whitecaps. Bring along a camera because this is one of Maui's most photogenic locations. If you are lucky, you may even see some of Hawaii's green sea turtles while you are here!
Waianapanapa State Park
Known for the black sand beach known as Pa'iloa Beach, this park includes lava fields, caves and hiking trails. An ocean cave is on the east side of Pa'iloa Beach that can only be accessed through the ocean. Meanwhile, two freshwater caves can be find in another part of the park. In ancient times, these freshwater caves were used to wash kapa and prepare food.
Important Information
Each tour includes a picnic lunch that consists of a sandwich, bottled water, macaroni, canned juice, fruit slices and cookies. A continental breakfast in the morning features mini pastries, hot cocoa, 100 percent Maui grown coffee, whole fruit and hot teas.
