Helping Skills Case Study
The first thing that I would do, would be to welcome Susan into a quiet comfortable atmosphere. The next thing that I would do, would be to introduce myself to her and let her know that I am here to help her. In my first meeting with Susan, I would first address the issues that she is having with her son. I would then ask her what it is that she wants as far as helping her son with his issues. I would then talk to Susan about the situation that has happened with her husband leaving, and then to see if she has dealt with the feelings that came up when this happened. I would also discuss with her about feelings that could come up. And would talk to her about depression that could accompany with this type of situation. My next step that would follow that is to make sure that she gets the help that she, herself may need. I would let her know that everything is going to be okay, and that I would do my best on trying to assist her in achieving her goals. I would also let her know that if it is something that I am not able to assist her with, I will get her the help that she will need. I would then go over the confidentiality clause and ask her if there was anything that she did not understand, then I would let her know that if there is any other assistance that she would need outside of mine that I would always need her permission in order to refer her to anyone else and have her sign off on it. After I have done this I would then show her my empathy and let Susan know that I do understand what she is going through, and that I will start to ask some necessary questions. I would then start asking some necessary questions like has she received any help for her situation that pertained to her son. I would also ask her if she had received any help on depression for the both of them, due to her husband leaving. I would ask her that if she had received any services what

Summary 2In his writing, The Movies That Rose From the Grave, Max Brooks, explains how movies, books, video games, and television shows about Zombies have continued to be a leader in the horror industry for the past 40 years. The story of Zombies originated as myths and tall tales. The first Zombie movie, White Zombie, was released in 1932. During this time period, a Zombie was a living person that was made to act as a corpse. With the release of George A. Romero’s movie, Night of the Living Dead, in 1968, the notion of a Zombie changed drastically. In this movie, Zombies were portrayed as people who had risen from the dead and terrorized society. Zombies destroyed the brain of their living victims and lived off of human flesh. Their main purpose was to destroy human society. With the development of computer games such as Resident Evil and House of the Dead, more people were joining the Zombie craze. More zombie movies were created and the following increased.…

The specialist area within which I work is delivering Key and Functional Skills. Therefore, the main focus is on English and maths. The challenge I have is less about embedding Functional Skills, and more about encouraging learners to apply the skills they are learning within life, learning and work. The learners I work with are those who did not achieve grade C or above in their GCSE English and or maths, and many of them struggle with these subjects due to a lack of interest or due to low ability. Therefore, the challenge for me is to teach the skills they need in a way that is interesting and meaningful, so that they are able to learn and retain the skills and apply them beneficially.…

One of the benefits of attending a vocational high school is the opportunity to participate in SkillsUSA. Preparing for SkillsUSA was one of the most challenging and nerve racking experiences in my life. SkillsUSA is an organization of students and teachers working together to help its members become responsible, hard working, and dedicated young adults. At the beginning of my junior year in high school, my shop instructor approached me and told me about SkillsUSA, and also the events that pertained to information technology. It took me a few moments to realize that he was encouraging me to participate. I read through the information packet my teacher gave me and noticed that SkillsUSA was a lot bigger than I realized. SkillsUSA is not only about being skilled in the trade you are studying, it is about being an outstanding citizen, and giving back to your community in any way you can. The first thoughts that popped into my head were “Am I ready for this?”…

In the beginning, I want to talk about communication skills. It’s not difficult to understand about the definition of communication skills. That’s the ability to use languages to connect with others. That’s a set of skills which enables a person to convey information to others as well as receive information from them (“Internet date” 2010). The information can be conveyed by different kinds of languages such as talking, eyes contact and behaviors. People with communication skills can make friendly working environments easily. They know how to show their opinions to persuade others as well as they understand other opinions carefully. Clearly, when employees can be easy to exchange ideas, the qualities in teamwork will be improving a lot. Another benefit is avoiding the annoyed feelings when they can’t get other opinions. For example, in a discussion, a worker is…
