In Candide, by Voltaire, Candide succeeds in finding Lady Cunegonde only because of his shear determination. He was prepared to do anything and he did everything he could do to get her back. He sold all his jewels, traveled long and hazardous journeys, and even risked his life. His determination makes him do whatever he has to do. His mind was prepared to get to his goal: his motivation evolved from his determination to find his love, and he succeeds in it also. Determination is also seen in athletes and adventurers. Its there determined mind—the decision that they have to win—that takes them to their success. Without determination humans cannot succeed. By definition, dedication means the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose, essentially meaning passion. The way I see it, dedication is so much more than just exaggerated passion, it means that you’re willing to push forward and strive for what needs to be done. When I made the decision to dedicate myself to lacrosse, I gained so much more than just the skills needed for the game; I learned to be a better teammate, a better friend, and an understanding of what it meant to be a part of…

To illustrate the point more clearly, I evaluate myself as a person with persistence, leadership, and devotion. First of all, to describe persistence and as I have noticed, I have been constantly participating in different sports activities and services for years. In other words, I never stop what I have started, and continue until I reach my limit. Therefore, I have planned constant participation in various activities and services in my entire school life. Also, I have been awarded the certificate of improvement in English Department in 2014, revealing persistence through hard work. On top of persistence, I am a person with devotion. I find myself a devoted person by putting myself to services. I feel a strong desire doing service and satisfy with the outcome. I am planning a wider service by joining the NHS, and will continue after school life. To be specific, motivated by the Habitat For Humanity, I would like to make people participate in it to improve their concealed desire for service and to organize a new service club that travels in wider range of distance, beginning from a small group to a large group where every student voluntarily participates at least once. Most importantly, I am often called an “idea bank” by my peers since I offer different apt ideas pertaining to the situations. My ideas work efficiently especially when selecting the topic of a project, altering climax rhythms in…

Having dedication to me is being a productive worker with incomparable effort. I believe that I possess this quality. I have learned from two hard working parents how to be a dependable, responsible person. There was a time that I had a solo concert for the performance center I go to. I was very ill and didn’t think I would be able to make it. With a few prompting words from my parents, and some strong cold medicine, I successfully performed a very difficult song in Italian. It went because I believed that it was my duty to go and perform. It would have been unfair to my vocal coach if I didn’t come, and made an excuse. No matter what, I strive to be committed to excellence and success, because I want to be an excellent and successful person.…

To me, dedication it is one of the important characteristics that a good student must have .When I was in high school, I used to keep up in all my classes. By doing my homework, class work, and projects I showed the dedication I had for that class. [I still remember the day that my biology teacher gave us a quiz without us knowing. My teacher was surprised when I got a 100% on that quiz.] Those activities mentioned were a helpful tool that made me an Honor Roll Student. Dedication applies in all aspects of life sports, school, and careers. Nothing in life that is worth having is ever easy and one has to work hard for what they want. Without the dedication to something, a person will never succeed. Having dedication means: being disciplined enough to make ones self workout even when life is stressful and exhausting, being able to block out all those people that say “you cant do it,“ and having the ability to get up after falling and keep working to achieve ones goals. When a person is truly dedicated, they don’t care about the parties, or going out with their friends. They don’t care about sleeping in; they will stay at the gym and go ass to the grass in squats until they can’t think straight. Every athlete strives to be the best they can be, but dedication plays a key role in being the best. Vince Lombardi considered by many to be the greatest coach that Football has ever seen says “the price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand and the determination that whether we win or lose we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” A dedicated athlete puts everything they have into perfecting their craft. They always put forth one hundred and ten percent before and after practice. Athletes achieve their success knowing they put in years of hard work to attain it.…
